Happy Monday! 3/7/11

"If God wanted us to bend over he'd put diamonds on the floor." Joan Rivers

Hope everyone is doing well. Things are good here, just wet. Rain is better than snow but do we really need this much?? Blog ladies!

Nance, how is your Mom?

We are a quiet group of bloggers lately. Probably because we all have the end of winter blues and have absolutely interesting to write about.... (or maybe that is just me) I need sun and dinner and drinks on my deck. Instead we have rain and a pile of glass on our deck where our table top used to be. I guess the good news is we can see the glass now because the 4 foot pile of snow that crushed it has finally melted.

working from home today... Juli has a dermatolgist appointment and Ed had to take monday off because our basement was flooding and the girls had no school.

Ok... enought complaining... send me some jokes, funny stories or sunshine!

I had all but given up on my fellow bloggers. I also believe that when we spoke you got an ear full of my complaining so thanks for listening.

I will work on something funny for my next post. One week of testing down, one to go! Enjoy the new floods and yes a letter went out on Wednesday to staff in our town to check for a Friday cancellation...you have been warned. The up side is the pool will be open and I will be floating while my kids are stilling finishing up the school year. Do I hear pool party anyone????

Our basement flooded even though we spend thousands to prevent it. Needless to say Norb and I were upset but unfortunately, the system worked. It was just that all the water wasn't going into the system I guess. The guy is supposed to come out on Saturday but I guess we might get more before that. Good grief!

I'm afraid all I'd have is complaints. The third girl in our department gave notice today. With that said, Gretchen and I (last two standing) had to go and talk with HR regarding why everyone is leaving and things are so bad. I left 30 minutes later feeling refreshed and as if I just got my boss fired. We'll see what happens. I'm exhausted emotionally, it's the weirdest feeling.

On the upside, Ted got his braces off today. They gave him a bag of all the illegal things he wasn't supposed to eat with them on (pop corn and candy). I told him not to take the candy to school and leave it in the car but he said he didn't trust me...when did I become so transparent?

Can't wait until tomorrow (cocktails) and the weekend(more cocktails)...

Deb... do you know which day they are taking off of April vacation for the "flood" day? I assume it will be monday... but you never know.

Bob Maxon said this morning that the kids would probably have no school on Thursday and now my kids are holding him to it...

Snow - go away!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lynn E - Ed could still ride today with the top down, it wasn't that cold.

Hope everyone else is well. No one is blogging......

He picked me up from the train station with the top down and the heat blasting... it was fun! Too bad it has to go back to the dealer today.:(

I really hope that there are no snow days this week. We have booked Boston for the last week in June so my kids won't be going to school if they add on any more days!

How's everyone else????

Any advice on going with a fixed rate plan or a price cap plan for oil?

Sorry I have been blog absent. The flood day goes onto the end of the year. April remains in tact.

Tyler has been sick so things are hectic. New carpet being put in on Saturday. New flooring in kitchen and playroom next week.

Lynn, I can't make Aquazumba on the 9th. My sister has decided to have a birthday brunch for Owen.

Nancy we use gas, sorry.

Hi Dan!!

I could really use a night out, any takers?

Nance, for the past 5-6 years we've done a price plan (it might even could be more years than that) and only 1 year did we pay more that year, than if we had bought it at cost (and I think that was last year 2009, but it could have been 2008 when the oil prices really dropped). That's what we've done. We also pay up front so it's cheaper. Mark just came home and says we've gotten screwed once out of every 5 years we've done it.

Nancy,

We always lock in. This year we did really good because locked in at 2.59 during the summer. We also changed oil companies so they always give you a lower rate when you switch.

Deb... will miss you at aquazumba. Just bought a new speedo so I can move without my straps falling down or my top floating up.

I'm going to see Bret Michaels at MGM tonight and staying overnight with my sister... so my free passes will be used up for a few weekends. Maybe we can plan something for late April.
