...birthday is coming up soon- September 3rd! When are we free? We seem to be ok for the next few weekends.
How was your dad's surgery Lynn?
Blog peeps-
I am free most weekends. My first weekend at SHU is the 7th and 8th of September. I am there until 8:30 on friday and 4:30 on Saturday. Let's plan something before things get busy.
I am free Sep 1 and Sep 2....(if you want to come to Danbury on Sep 2nd and eat @ Rosy Tomorrow's and see my friend Dave King play from 6pm-9pm...just an idea)...I flexible on Sep 2nd since it is Lynn's bday..whatever she wants is good...as for Sep 8...it is the Taste of Danbury and they have lead singer from Journey playing on the town green and I would like to see that...you are welcome to join us...
Lynn, I may need you to take a text book to Boston with you on Sept 11. I don't have anymore days off for a few weeks. My last vacation day is used to take her back to BU for move in day. She ordered all her books on amazon and one isn't due to come in until after the 4th. Let me know if you can take it with you-
Dan...I can bring it.. no problem. Good luck moving her in. No Tears.. ok maybe just a few. We are dealing with out own tears tonight. Juli didn't make the volleyball team and she is crushed. Its so hard to see them heart broken.
I'm sorry but next weekend isn't going to work to go out so the next best date is Sept 8th. Can we do it then. If not I can wait until Oct and Dan and I can do something together.
September 8th is good for me. Let us know how moving in goes Dan. Sorry about Juli...it is so hard but she is awesome and something else will hopefully fill the void.
Moved in - everything went well. Did not cry at all. I'm sure I'll cry at some really weird moment, like when I go to buy 5 of something and realize I only need 4. We moved her in but didn't stay too long - about an hour. She was just unpacking and didn't really need us.
She met her roommate and her mother. The mother's first words to Carolyn were "your parents just dumped you here and left?" Oh boy! Caro said the mom rubs her the wrong way. In fact, the orientation party was at west end of campus (5 min walk) and Caro said the roommate's mom drove her there instead of walking with everyone else. We'll see...
Hope your dad is still doing well Lynn and sorry to Juli about volleyball team. That really rots.
We finally broke down and brought kitty in the shed into our house. I found a women in shelton who runs a rescue group who paid for all the vet care and turns out he is a 2 year old, already neutered male who was completely healthy. He had bite marks on his back so it wasn't mange or anything distgusting. Maybe from a cat fight or something. They cleaned him up and gave him shots and antibiotics and he is now ours. His name is Tucker and he is so sweet. He is staying in Lauren's room for now until everyone gets used to him. He slept on her pillow all night. Just don't know how the rest of the animals will take to him. Millie is already hissing at the door. This weekend we will figure it all out.
oh congratulations! They will eventually get used to one another. We would rub each cat with a washcloth to get the scent on the cloth and then rub the other cat with it, so their scents would mix. Crazy, I know but the vet said to do it. It seemed to work. The cats get along now and with the dog. There are occasionally still cat fights, but all in all, everone plays nice in the sandbox.
The women from the rescue agency said to rub vanilla behind their ears so they both smell the same. I thought that was crazy but maybe she is onto something. I like the washcloth idea better.
Dan... I am in Boston on the nights of Sept 11th & 12th. I'm free on the 11th by 6:00 if Caro wants to meet to get the book. I would love to take her to dinner if she has time that night. The next night I have a Fidelity sponsored dinner at Symphony Hall (don't know exactly where that is but we have to take a bus). That night I should be free but not until 9:00. I am staying at the Sheraton in the Prudential center.
Thanks Lynn, I'll let her know. I know she wanted to try and meet up with you. She has 10 guest meals per semester to use. Each cafe is actually very good. Let her treat you!
Her last textbook came today and one of the kids from Bethlehem that goes there is leaving Sunday. We're trying to make arrangements to drop off the stuff she forgot to him so he can bring it up. More than just one textbook - in fact two books, and all the things she forgot to pack and thought she wouldn't need. I'll let you know if I need you to bring stuff up. Thanks-
Is everyone ok with Sept 8th? Nance, how about you?
I invited you all to the taste of Danbury on 9/8 but it is up to Lynn what she wants to do...there are certain acts I want to see so maybe I can meet up with you later...let me know when you are meeting and what you are doing?
Nancy, I can only do a night thing on the 8th so I will have to pass on the taste of Danbury. I would like to shop if possible so maybe the Danbury Mall and then the Cheesecake Factory???? What do you think? We can all meet in Danbury?
The Taste of Danbury is a day and night thing...but there is no real shopping other than food...so danbury fair mall is fine...what time are we talking as I said there are some acts I want to see so I may meet up with you later?
Mall is good for me too. We tried to go to the Cheesecake Factory on a Wednesday evening and the wait was between 60-85 min and I don't think they take reservations, but I'll check into that. Otherwise, we may have to check in first then shop and return later.
There is also the food court in the middle of the mall instead of the cheesecake factory! Also, Chuck's steakhouse is very close by...maybe that is an alternate?
I haven't tried Cheesecake Factory yet and would like to (just my opinion). I will pick up Lynn and Dan, and you want to meet us for the ride? Should we shop a little and then eat? Time? I am out at 4:30 from school.
If we can check into the cheesecake factory and then shop a bit that will work. We can also plan on a later dinner after shopping and then it may not be such a wait. Dan... is it easier for you to meet us at the mall?
Let's say 6:00 at the entrance to the restaurant. This way our cars our close to where we will end the night. Deb.. if that is not enough time for you, we can make it later. Nancy... just text us if you can make it and we will meet you somewhere.
I will meet you at the mall at 6pm and I will have called and made reservation for 615-630 if they accept them. If not, whoever is there first, put our name in (Lola) and we can eat later. I'll email you all later about the reservation time.

Enjoy the start of school!
My dad is doing pretty good. He should be coming home today. He was loopy from the drugs but not as bad as last time so we were relieved.
I am free Sept 1,2 and 8th.

Is Julie a freshman? She should try out next year as the coaches will remember that.
