I am starting a new post and I expect you all to fill in the blanks.
This week my...
Husband bought a 45 year old row boat that is apparently in terrific shape and has spent most of it's life on cape cod. If only I were as lucky.
Kids have what seems to be strep but waiting for the final report (two so far)
Husband brought the deposit down to the new and improved Lake Zoar Beach Club so we can keep the boat in the water this year.

This Saturday my granddaughter Riley is getting her first reconciliation.
This week my first born goes to Nature's Classroom, my Mom needs an agioplast (possible stent), I am presenting a facilitated conversation with the superintendent of schools and I am going to a grad school intro (I have been accepted).
In addition I am hormonally imbalanced and taking 40 students to see the Hunger Games.
This week I will be so happy when it is Friday!!!
When is your Mom getting the angioplast? My Mom and Norb have both had it done.
She had it today. A replacement stent was put in and she will be in overnight.
My daughter was accepted in Boston University (56K) and only received 10K in merit money resulting in
46K a year tuition (not including books and living in Boston).
Husband called the financial counselor at BU to appeal (get more) merit money and the man laughed.
I started my new job and the people are extremely nice.
Dog (again) ripped off a toenail and is bleeding all over the house.
Middle son Ted has strep throat. (sorry Lynn, I feel for you)
Found out my insurance does not go to the end of the month as previously stated and I had to pay out of pocket to take son to clinic on Sunday for strep throat as we have no insurance. I think they felt bad for us and made the visit cheap (only $130)
Daughter is sad because we are trying to convince her UConn or Northeastern are much better buys than BU when it comes to money. UConn = no loans, Northeastern = 60K in loans and BU = 92K in loans when all is said and done.
...and every week, my peeps are my best friends and I love you all!
Dan: Tell your daughter that WestConn was my last choice for a school. I wanted very badly to go to Marist in Poughkeepsie and got scholarship $ but it was still more expensive than WestConn which my Mom was willing to pay for. I have the best peeps ever as a result who are close by if needed.
Dan, imagine where we would be without WestConn...
No loans is the way to go and UCONN is a great school. She will then be able to continue her education, move out of your house, buy a car all without the burden of student loans. Even 60K in loans equals a few years watching your paycheck go to that and not much else. Good luck!
I am happy to hear about the good and sorry to hear about THOR.
I truly believe education is what you make of it. I work with so many people who went to the best colleges and they are not doing any better than I am. She could always get her Masters from BU and let her employer pay for it!
GO UCONN!!!!
I listened to a doctor speak at the health care conference I went to in NYC and he said stents/angioplasty only save lives after your first heart attack. So good thing Gerry went.
Glad everyone is doing OK....seeing the hunger games tomorrow night.
Love you all too!!!!
Keeping with the "This week my" theme:
Favorite comment made by said daughter, "You can always pay back money but you never get back your time."
ah youth... She has taken to wearing the Boston hat around the house 24/7. Robotics competition is the next few days. So far, so good...
How about trying UCONN for a year and then transferring!
If only it were that easy. She hates UConn.(and that is a direct quote) We're going to an open house on April 14th at BU. It had better wow me.
Robotics is done. They are not going to St. Louis. She is going to be a ref in June at an off season competition in Boston and if there is anyone would like to join me, I would love the company (June 2nd, I believe?) I am not spending any time at the competition, but I just have to drop her off and pick her up later in the day. The rest of the time is ours... A bonus is you may get to see the cellar dweller in action. Altho scuttle-butt has it, he has an actual girlfriend who is currently in college. So, I have that going for me.
I'll keep you posted...love my peeps!
HMMM... Boston in June would be nice. Let me check the calendar.
I have caught the plague from the kids. It turned out not to be step but it sure feels like it.
Boston might be fun! Keep us posted.
