Nice photo of Lynn in today's CT Post. You can see the pics at ctpost.com and search Healthy Workplaces.

My Mom had a heart attack two nights ago. She is ok and at this moment is still in Hartford Hospital because Midstate in Meriden couldn't do an angioplast.

Debbie said...

I'm sorry to hear that Nance. Did the angioplast open her up. How is she doing?

Nancy Setzler said...

They only found two 50% blockages which is not enough to put in a stint so they are going to treat her with medication. She was released yesterday and she is home in Meriden. She is actually coming up this weekend and spending Saturday night with my brother and Sunday night with Norb and me.

I am happy to hear that she is being ok. Maybe now she will consider closer. Hang in there!

Oh, Nance - I'm so sorry to hear that! Hope she's feeling better. MidState is actually owned by Hartford Hosp and the doctors share locations so she should have a cardiologist close by.

I just put an application into MidState and got a call from their HR but I was still at work. Sad to have missed them. My boss is either bipolar or schizeophrenic (not sure which) and I'm done. Keep your fingers crossed.

I have an interview with MidState at 1pm tomorrow (Tuesday) - will let you know how everything goes.

Debbie said...

Fingers crossed!! Good luck. How far is the commute?

I am applying to grad school to start in the fall. Need to be marketable and have more options.

Good Luck at the interview, Dan! As for grad school, Alan will need to pick up the slack...I couldn't do it working full time with no kids...Lynn...did you ever finish?

Debbie said...

Yes and he has agreed. It is a year program that meets every other Saturday so we all need to suck it up. Dan, how did it go???

Lynn said...

I am so sorry that I missed all of this..usually I get an email when someone posts so I don't know what happened.

Wow... lots going on!

I'm glad everyone is ok. How did the interview go Dan?

Deb... you already have your Masters. What's next?

The picture in the Ct post was horrible and I really hoped that no one I know reads the paper anymore.

Interview went really well. My friend who works there said the woman I had interviewed with liked me a lot. 2 jobs are available, one I do now and the second is to put a newly formed oncology department together (coding wise). I wasn't looking to code oncology, but it will be different to learn and interesting. It's set apart from the actual hospital (it has its own free standing building).

The commute is awful. It took me 15 minutes more than New Milford. And that was with no traffic. Maybe someday it will be remote but for the beginning it will be hands on. It's just off 691 but if there's ever an accident I'm doomed. We did not discuss money or benefits etc... so we'll have to see if it's worthwhile. My sanity is worth any price to be honest. Keep you posted-

Great news on Grad school! Is this for PhD and we can call you Dr. Hansen? Everyone will chip in, I'm sure. (well, in the beginning anyway).

Hope your mom is recovering Nance.

Debbie said...

No Dr. Hansen right now. This would be working toward a 6th year in administration. I would have 18 credits and all prep to take the exam next June. I am at a point where 8 years experience and Social Studies cert only will not get me another job. Things may not be stable in a few years and at least I can move with this new cert.

Sounds good except the commute Dan. Maybe it is time for an all girl commune house? Centrally located of course.

Nance, how is your Mom?

Lynn, you looked professional.

Mom is good...dermatologist just called and said they found a basal cell carcinoma on my back and want to cut it out...I am little scared but was told not to worry...any thoughts????

dan said...

They are correct - don't worry but have it cut out. It should be able to be done in the office.

Debbie said...

Thanks Dan. I feel better and I hope you do to Nance.

Sorry my computer posted without me...snow this morning????

This is the craziest weather ever! 60 one day and no school the next.

My mom is going to have IV infusion therapy for a bladder infection that is resistant to everything. She is having a pick line put in today at the hospital.. so, of course, they have no school. I left Juli home in charge. I hope I have a house when I get home since I am having 30 people for Juli's bday party tomorrow. UGH!

dan said...

Can I do anything to help you with the party?

Nancy Setzler said...

Well, I got it cut out and now I have to wait another three weeks for another biopsy to make sure they got all of it. Also am not supposed to lift anything for two weeks...that should be interesting.

Debbie said...

You will be ok Nance, Happy Leap Day to all!!!

An excuse not to lift things seems ok to me!
