Happy Thanksgiving Peeps! We needed a new post to replace September. I am cooking Thanksgiving listening to Metallica. Wouldn't the pilgrims have been proud! We need a night out soon but I know it will be crazy finding a time. Blog peeps. Miss you all!

Thank you Dan for posting. Sherlock Holmes is out in December. How about Sunday 12/18 for a pre-holiday "peeps" movie and a bite to eat. It would be nice to have a few hours together before the holiday craziness. We can also plan for Nancy's bday then. Do I have any takers?
Must suckiest Thanksgiving week ever...
The wake and funeral for Juli's friends mother was so horrible. I truly hope to never have to see a family in that much pain again. I can't get poor Kaitlyn's face out of my mind. I can't tell you how many sobbing teenage girls I consoled over two days. They were all just hysterical.
My sister was rushed back to the hospital on Thanksgiving Day because she started hemorrhaging after her hysterectomy. She needed to more surgery to stop the bleeding. She is OK now but in a lot of pain and mad at everyone for convincing her to have the surgery to begin with.
Ed fell coming out the shed on Friday. Spent all Friday in the walk-in with him. Nothing broken but a pulled, torn or ruptured quad. He can't walk without crutches. We will find out the extent of the damage when he goes to the orthopedic doc tomorrow. I just pray it isn't ruptured and he doesn't need surgery.
My cousin Billy from Florida has bone cancer in 8 different locations. He is going to the oncologist tomorrow and we will find out more. It doesn't look good.
Lastly, Grandma Barb is supposed to be having back surgery on Wed but chest xray came back with a spot and she is going for a petscan tomorrow.
Sorry to be a downer...but I knew you would all understand.
I truly can't wait to go back to work tomorrow!
Wow..Lynn sorry to hear all that...one of the guys Norb worked with dropped dead of a heart attack and he had no history of heart disease was in good shape, etc. and Norb had just seen him that day. We attended the service the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Norb is really freaked out because the guy was only 59. Sunday 12/18/11 is good for me.
I'm so sorry Lynn E. I have so many questions, I don't even know what to write. Why did Krissy need a hysterectomy? Did they harvest an organs from Juli's friend's mom? What happened with Ed today?
That is a truly sucky week.
Sorry about Norb's friend Nance. Awful news all around.
December 18th is good for me too. We have some good new to share. Caro was accepted to UConn so that is a huge relief. At least we've been accepted somwhere I can afford. So we have that going for us...
Grandma Barb's petscan came out good so that is a relief. She will have her back surgery on Wed.
Ed does need surgery. He ruptured the tendonds that attach to his knee. Surgery probably next week and then a knee brace to keep his leg straight for a few months. This should be interesting...
Billy's report is not good. They will just keep him comfortable.
My sister is doing good and home sitting on the couch cybershopping. She needed a hysterectomy because she was bleeding so bad two months ago she needed blood transfusions.
Dec. 18th sounds good. I am sure I will need a night out with my peeps by then!
Thanks for always listening!
It sounds like we all need the 18th and it works! Keep us posted Lynn.
Nance I have your thirty one stuff. Do you want it before the 18th? I can do a road trip.
Lynn - when is Ed's surgery going to be? Glad to hear about Grandma Barb. I can't tell you how many times I've coded abnormal chest xrays to have them come out clean. Even so, it's better to be safe than sorry. We got merit money from UConn which is exciting since I wasn't expecting any. (16,500 over the four years (4128/year). so we have that going for us - making it even more affordable. She still wants Boston but now that money has to be even better. We went to Financial Aid night and learned we won't be getting any of that. You really need to be dirt poor. What the govt thinks you can afford and what YOU think you can afford are two different scenarios. Looking forward to Dec 18th-
Ed's surgery is tuesday. Not sure what time yet.
That is such good news on UConn!
Also looking forward to the 18th!
Ed's surgery went fine. No complications and pretty straight forward which was good news. He was fine last night because they gave him a nerve block.. but once that wears off today I'm not sure how bad it will be. He has to keep his leg straight in a brace for a month at least. He will be walking around like a pegleg for a while.
I just found out an aquaintance of mine committed suicide at the age of 61. She used to be in my singing group in church a long time ago and we all lost touch with her. It is so sad because I wanted to be like her...oh well...just don't know what is going on inside of people...thanks for listening...love you guys!
Nance, I'm so sorry about your friend. You're right, you have no idea what is up with everyone, but that's why us peeps are here!
Lynn, good luck with Ed. Straight leg will get very old, very quickly. At least you won't have to do any "wifely duty" for a while. So, you have that going for you.
Oh nancy... I'm sorry. Dan is right, you just never know what people are struggling with.
Ed was in horrible pain yesterday...got him stronger pain meds and now doing a bit better.
The only wifely duties going on at my house are bringing ice packs, pain meds and metamucil cocktails.
Oh the joy of getting old!
Lynn, I am glad he is doing better. Let me know when you need a wine delivery. Nance, sorry to hear about the woman you knew. You just never know...that is why I am grateful for all of you!!!!!
Looking forward to the 18th!!!!!!!!!!
