Maybe I will be a movie star!? 6/14/10

This is the statement I made to my husband this morning and he laughed. And you all know how hard it is to get a laugh out of him. It is David Letterman's production company, not Dave, that is in town. That's all I know. Hope everyone had a good weekend.

So are you a star yet, Deb?

I have the girls birthday this week. Pizza for 30 on Friday night. UGH!

The boat is not even uncovered yet and it doesn't look promising for this weekend either.

Hope you guy are having a good week.

Um, Ted blew out his knee again at baseball. Pediatrician can't figure out what's wrong. "It's really weird," is all he says. I agree. We go to the orthopedic guy on Friday and probably an MRI. It's always something....so we aren't having a much better week.
In fact, the boys (Mark included) are being reeeealy grumpy. Carolyn says they all have MANopause. I agree.

I wish I was a star. I'd go on "Real Housewives of Woodbury CT." You could watch me to Labonne's grocery store and to the library. Wouldn't that be exciting? NOT!

Have fun on Friday with pizza. I'll be at a boy scout picnic. How are ya Nance?

I can't complain. I am finally done with eye medicine and everything seems ok with my eye. The boat is in the water but haven't been on it in a couple of weeks. The hot tub is filled and I made a pact to maintain it. It seems that when I write a list of the fun things I want to do in a weekend and I share it with Norb we actually do them. I will have to do that again. The band thing that I started on the side separate from Maggie is doing an open mic tomorrow @ the Georgetown Saloon. Wish me luck!

Good luck! But you won't need it. You'll be wonderful :)

Dan... any word on Ted?

Nancy... you will do awesome. What kind of group is it?

Nance, good luck!
I am not a star and I guess I will be ok with that.
How's Ted?
Lynn, I finished the book and want to see the movie in August...want to go?? The book was eat, pray, love and everyone is welcome.

It is a band consisting of Norb (bassist), Tim (lead guitarist/lead vocals), Ed (drums) and me (guitar/lead vocals). We have a mix of classic rock and pop/contemporary songs. We are planning to do Brown Eyed Girl and Zombie by the Cranberries.

How is Ted?

Yes to Eat,Pray,Love. Loved the book. When does it come out?

How was the gig, Nance?

How's Ted and all the other Micheners?

Deb... are you ordering the pre-packaged school supplies for next year? It seems expensive. Is anyone doing this I wonder? The girls don't want to because they want to pick out their own stuff but it would make school shopping a lot easier.

The open mic was fun. We did two songs and people in the audience were singing along.

We are good. Not sure what is up with Ted's knee. He has an MRI tomorrow morning. 8th grade graduation tonight and everyone here for dinner. I took the day off but it doesn't seem like I've gotten anything done. I'm in for the movie, although I'm going to the one where they "drink, swear and dis the husband" - not necessarily in that order. I told him to be home early today from work and he replied he would make it in time for graduation but not dinner. I guess his dinner will be cake later. So, I'll let you know how the MRI goes...

Bad news... I need to reschedule Boat Day. The Brooks and Dunn concert we were going to on Friday just got rescheduled to August 14th.

How is the next Saturday, August 21st for everyone?
Sorry.:(

August 21st is fine with me.

August 21st is good with us. Sorry about the husband Dan, I know the feeling.

No prepackaged stuff here Lynn. We need selection and I shop early. For a nominal fee I will pick up the girls and make it an event...ha,ha.

Just stressful here with everything with T and school. Things did not completely go our way...we will see and in the fall if I need to hire an advocate I will.

If anyone needs a drinks night(s), just let me know.

Ted has a full thickness ACL tear and a torn medical meniscus. I'm not sure what it all means surgically as I got the report this morning. Will let you know...

So, on that note, I need booze.

As of now August 21st is ok. Not sure what shape Ted will be in. Work is crazy and the kids are already complaining they are bored.

Calgon...take me away!

Lynn said...

Oh Dan...I'm so sorry. That is exactly what happened to me in college. Except back then they did repair ACL's unless you were an athlete of some sort which we all know I was not. Fast foward to 43 and look at me now with no ACL in either knee and meniscus like swiss cheese.

The moral of the story is get it fixed now and fixed right. He will bounce back quick because he is so young. Call me if you need to talk or drink. I can do both very well!

On a much more entertaining note:
Juli and 39 of her fellow Jockey Hollow friends got sent to the office today for wearing shorts that were too short. Fingertips must touch the bottom of the shorts. I complete agree with this rule on every other day. But for gods sake it's the last 1/2 day of school and 95 degrees. Ed had to bring her shorts from home so she could stay at school. Apparently, one father was so upset and was screaming at the teachers and had to be escorted from the school grounds by the very pregnant school police officer. I'm sure Alan will hear about this one. What a way to end the school year.

Deb...sorry about having to fight the school to get what you want. I don't understand since they agreed with the dx.

I just found out that the big 3 person tube that we usually borrow is not available 8/21 and I believe it is a big hit with the kids so let me know if you want to change the date again, sorry.

Nancy said...

Yes, it is true. I just double checked and the big 3 person tube is not available 8/21 so please let me know if you want to change the date...sorry...

Lynn said...

We have a tube we could use. The "older kids" boat probably will be skiing or knee boarding so I think we will be OK.

Any other thoughts?

Debbie said...

I am back at work on the 25th, so that would be the last weekend we could do it. The kids will be OK with whatever is available.

Nancy said...

We have a single person tube.
