Monday's Quote 6/8/09

"A person without a sense of humor is like a wagon without springs. It's jolted by every pebble on the road." Henry Ward Beecher

And do I know some of them!!! Just spent a busy weekend, New Jersey, parties, church stuff. Glad it is Sunday night. There are 11 more school days!!!!!!!!!!! We got our passports done, a piece of cake in Trumbull. Now I can book hotels.

Hey Lynn, Monroe's Biggest Loser (from the paper) is the woman in my book club and my co president for next year. How's the book? I will check on the other for you.

Hi Dan and Nance, what's new???

Perfect quote to sum up my day of parties yesterday... because if I wasn't laughing I certainly would have been crying. Sleepover and kids party went great. By the time the adults came at two I was exhausted but we were ready. First the handle broke off the toilet in the downstairs bathroom so it was unflushable. Then the well broke and started spitting out water filled with dirt and sand. No water is coming out of the sinks but the toilets are fine. Then my mother-in-law bumped into the OFF bug candle which had melted to liquid wax on my 90 degree deck. It fell over covering me and the deck with citronella wax. All my clothes were ruined and the deck will never been the same.

I'm home today waiting for the well guy. He doesn't think our well is caving in, which is good news.

I finished the book Friday night. Ready for the next... should I buy it? I saw it at Target.

I need to be the biggest loser. Do you think she will give me tips?

My niece's Miriya's band performed on Saturday night around 9pm at the relay for life in New Fairfield. Norb said it sounded better than he expected. The band consists of Miriya 12 year old lead singer, Fletcher 12 year old lead guitarist, Luke 12 year old drummer and Sean 15 year old bass player and of course me right now on rythym guitar and harmony vocals. We performed I Love Rock & Roll by Joan Jett, Hit Me With Your Best Shot by Pat Benatar, Sweet Child O Mine by Guns n Roses, Outside by Staind, Calling All Angels by Train and Blue Mountain by the Stone Coyotes. I am so proud and the kids parents are really happy.

Sorry-I'm working in Pathology all week and had a bad weekend (lab wise) carrying over into a bad Monday. Never got to check the blog until now. 2 fetal demises and a third child born with down syndrome. Dr. R had to do 2 autposies today. Lots of paperwork.

Baseball ended yesterday. yeah- Not much else. Lynn, I'm sorry, but I was laughing with you, not at you during the well story. And I'm sorry about the deck. I can just imagine that all going down while your family is there. I had to go to Christine's (Tony's wife) for a Simply Tasteful party. I opted out of the pomegranate-blueberry margueritas, but they looked good. The food was ok and the best thing was I DID NOT sign up to do a party and got out of there as soon as I could. The only good thing was I ordered stuff for xmas. So I can honestly say I've begun shopping. yahooooo!

Good job with the band Nance. Keep it up!
