"In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on."
-Robert Frost
Happy Monday! I just finished reading Nineteen Minutes and this quote seems to sum it all up. I hope everyone had a good week. I was off but not really. Tyler has the flu (what else would one expect?). Everyone else is good. Some more clueless than others.
Looking forward to getting back in the routine. And Spring has to be right around the corner?
We are thinking Niagra Falls for the summer trip...thoughts?
HAVE A GREAT ONE!!

My week off was so nice. The waterpark was good... Emmy was very cranky because of her new palate expander and habit breaker. Not sucking your fingers will do that plus she is hardly eating for fear of getting food stuck. But besides that we had a nice time. We took the kids for a skiing lesson...that was interesting. I don't think we are going to have a houseful of avid skiiers... at least right now.
It was so nice to be home and prentend I didn't really have a job. Especially when all the kids went back to school on Wed. I was busy with errands and getting ready for two birthday parties for Juli but it was still wonderful.
Deb... I was checking out a brand new indoor waterpark in Niagra falls when we were planning this list vaca. It looked beautiful and I really wanted to go there but too far to drive for such a short time. There seemed to be so much to do there... I never realized it. I will find the link.
So how is everyone else?
We really didn't have a week off, only Mon & Tues, but it didn't seem like a vacation because most of the time Caro was at robotics. They ended up just staying at the school for the entire weekend (sleeping over in shifts) trying to get everything done. If you look at the front page of today's Voices, she's in the picture but with her back to the camera. They got a lot done and the robot shipped out last Tuesday. Apparently they have to make replacement parts in case something happens to their robot, so they are still meeting. It was a much huger thing than I think even she realized it would be. But, now she thinks she's heading toward engineering (this week anyway), so here we go...plus I know there is a boy there she really likes (Matt Ziff, I think he's in the picture too).
Anyway, I've been downsized at the church. They told us we were no longer getting 2 weeks paid vacation and they were cutting the office hours by 5 hrs each week which meant we each gave up a few hours. But, I said I'd give up Thursdays entirely, so now I'm only there Wed & Fri, which with the lab, is so much better.
So far so good for Mark, but something big is about to happen. His boss is again in Dallas today laying off a bunch of people. Mark's friend Mike (another manager) got all the citigroup accounts, so Mark thinks the restructuring is going to happen next week. Whether he is a part of that or not, we don't know. His boss (who ususally will tell him things is being very vague-I sound like a broken record). Just keep your fingers crossed.
Deb, we were considering Niagara Falls for a vacation too. Better check when the new passport regulations are going into play. I know you could drive in and out with just a license &/or a birth certificate, but I know that is supposed to change soon.
Lynn Ellen, I remember the palate expander and the rather "sucky" noises that came out of Ted, especially when food got caught underneath it. Tell Emmy it will get better. Hope Juli's parties went well. Not much else here..
How are you Nance?
I am ok. I have this post nasal drip that I just can't seem to shake. I would imagine it is allergies but I am not sure. Norb wants me to go to the doctor. I have a mammogram next week.
I will be @ Borders in Southbury on 3/7 @ 7:30pm. Miriya, my 12 year old niece, will be there to do two or three songs.
