"The main reason Santa is so jolly is because he knows where all the bad girls live." -George Carlin
Happy Monday to all! I survived the silent auction and raffle. We made more than last year (I don't have an actual figure yet). Sorry Lynn, bidding got crazy and went way above your limit. Jordan did win the guitar.
How was Borders? How is Spuds? How are the Micheners?
Have a great one!

Love the quote!!!
We're good. Today is Mark's birthday. I have to work today. Sorry we never made it to Border's Nancy. I forgot that Carolyn had to do Trick or Treat Street at the high school all day, so she never came home until 730p, Phil had a birthday party and we had a baseball picnic after the last baseball game. So it was a busy day, but good. Hopefully this is the last of baseball but someone said they wanted a playoff thing and with any luck it will rain.
Rumor has it that November 4th is the day GE is laying off 25% of its work force. We will have to see if we make it through. Mark thinks he might. Billions of assets need to be sold and someone has to stay to sell them, but you know what happens when you get complacent...
Have a great week everyone.
ps Deb- Mark wants to know if you still want the windows done or are you going to hold off?
Good to hear from you Dan. Happy Birthday to Mark!! Yes, I think so. I am getting prices on windows this week. That damn pnemonia(sp) really kicked my ass and my ability to get the job done. I will keep him posted!
Happy belated bday Mark!
Spud is better but not 100% yet.
Norb's son Paul and Shannon got a new puppy (German Sheppard) and brought her over yesterday for dinner (not potty trained). Please explain why anyone would do that? Needless to say the puppy pee'd twice and poo'd once in the house. Not only that my dogs pee'd twice and the cat once in the house. Is it possible this one puppy upset my whole household in a few hours?
Borders was great! Thanks to Lynn and the kids for coming!
Deb...you have a gift for finding good quotes. I look forward to them every week.
Nancy, you just summed up the life of a puppy... they actually upset your life until they grow up - which takes years. Luckily they are so damn cute that it makes it worth it.
That is very scary news about GE. They will keep the ones that will make them back some money so Mark should be OK.
Deb, thanks for trying. What did the party's go for in the end? I'm glad you guys raised lots of money. That was a really nice fair... much better than when Juli was at Monroe El.
Nancy, you rock again. Your niece is awesome. Let me know when you are there again. The kids loved the freedom of shopping and wandering around the bookstore by themselves.
Works is nuts - this is the time of the year when I long to be a receptionist somewhere. Any to add to the fun my class starts next week.
Now my other dog Waffles was being checked out and he has Kidney disease. Norb and I are both going to the vet today to see if we can administer fluids to him via a needle three times a week otherwise we will have to bring him to vet three times a week. Tell me again how is this worth it?
Because when they look at you with undying love and those great eyes, they do not: talk back, tell you dinner is disgusting, fight non stop with each other, leave their dirty laundry all over the floor, leave the toilet un-flushed, call you two hours after school begins that its your day to bring the field hockey snack to the game for not only your team but the opposing team too or tell you that they are bored 50 times a day.
(and to think this has all happened this week and it's only Wednesday).
Love them as long as they're with you Nance. They are your kids and you'll do anything for them, even if it means cleaning up their messes off the floor. :)
I am so happy to hear that I am not the only one with unflushed toilets and dirty clothes on the floor.
Nance, enjoy every aspect of the dogs, even old age...you never have to have the sex talk, drug talk or pay for a wedding! Or better yet talk to your mother-in-law about her bowels!!!!
