Monday's Quote (Happy Labor Day)

"Never under any circumstances take a sleeping pill and laxative on the same night."
-Dave Barry

OK, just the kind of week I came off. Hope everyone has a great short week!

I love Dave Barry. Have you ever read walter, the wonder dog? It has a much longer title (something pertaining to Christmas angels too) but it is very funny. Short book, only take you a few hours. All the kids read it too.

Good one!

Very pertinent to the weekend I had also... Let's just say we all know that pain meds cause pooping isses - hence, Senekot. Well Ron was having a problem and we all had to live through it.

Love Dave Barry and his sarcasim. I used to read his column in the Sunday paper. (Now I don't have time to read the paper.)

Deb, so are you working at Monore El yet?

Looking forward to Sat. night!

Debbie said...

No, I am not and will not be. When the Courier contacts you it is time to step aside.

I can't wait for Saturday!! I will give you all the details.

Lynn said...

Oh no...I'm sure our old friend
P O'H had something to do with that.

Can't wait to hear the details.

What's new with everyone else?

Dog has a double ear infection and lyme disease. I knew he had something wrong with his ears but, you know, when you go looking for trouble... That can be Tuesday's quote (always a day behind), "Never trouble trouble, til trouble troubles you."

So now, tons of money later (and he is totally worth it), we have to do all kinds of crazy lyme tests and creams and ointments etc...before we can do other antibiotics. Always something...

Can't wait until Saturday. Supposed to be raining. I'll be there at your house early Lynn with wine of course. Rented Death at a Funeral for the third time this weekend and (what a surprise!) never got it to see it! One of these days, we'll watch it. At least it was free. (movie store paid all its back taxes-so at least its open). I have to work tonight and I don't want to. Nothing else.

dan said...

I thought her fan club was made up of peeps!

dan said...

Also, Deb- have you given any thought to ordering new basement windows or did you want Mark to do that?

Debbie said...

We are her peeps in a club. Like bunch of bananas up a tree. Dan, I would be happy to order windows, what do I measure. We are still waiting our first pay check and somebody in my house ws ebay binging and I am trying to pay that off.

Nancy said...

I love the quote...Norb wanted to go to Oyster Festival on Saturday but I told him I already had plans with the girls...

Debbie said...

It supposed to rain anyway Nance.

dan said...

I'll tell Mark about the window measuring. I'm really afraid to ask what was bought while ebay binging.

ps-we start doggie doxycycline today-whooppeee

Thanks to all my peeps, fans and bananas. Had a nice night - my mom cooked lasagna and my sister came over.

What do you guys think about Saturday night if we are hit by Hanna? I have no problem changing it to later if it's really bad out. Two of you have long drives.

So ladies, what's the consensus on Palin? So far the only thing I sure of is that she has a cute husband.

Dan - Sophie was on doggie doxycycline for that last tick borne thing she had - not lyme but something like it. She especially liked the hot dog I hid it in every day. Did they tell you not to put it in cheese or any dairy product. Apparently, mixed with dairy it could have some unpleasant side effects... and you don't need doggy diareaha.

Its up to the travelers. I think we are supposed to get rain and some wind. I am not on top of it though.

Our movie choices include Everybody wants to be Italian, Tropic Thunder, The Traitor

Not the best, check the reviews.

Well, that dairy thing certainly explains the massive diarrhea the dog seems to be exuding. I knew to keep him out of the sun for long periods of time (just like people). So, I should stop trying to give it to him wrapped in Land 'O Lakes-white american.

As for Saturday, if you want to change, its ok by me. I did hear it was going to be rather bad out but that changes daily too. I guess we can wait until Sat to make a decision. I'm working next weekend and have a wedding on the 20th. I don't think the movie choices are very good. I could rent Death at a Funeral and have a better than 50% chance of watching it with you guys and not my husband. We could go to a nice department store and watch it on their tv in nice big recliners. We could say we are just testing it out. We'd even bring our own popcorn. Don't they show those kinds of things on TV?

Lynn said...

Let's check in tomorrow and decide about Sat. I just checked local WTNH and they say it's gonna get bad now Saturday into Sat. night. Plus the movies all stink so if we wait we could at least get a better chance at a good movie.

Dan - sorry about Thor...he a big one to be cleaning up after - so hotdogs not cheese. (At least you can spell diarrhea - I gave up after several tries)

Hello Ladies,

Well it appears that Hanna is throwing us a curve ball. Afternoon and evening are supposed to be the worst of it.

What is Plan B? When is everyone available again this month? Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays work for me and I am open.

Lynn said...

I am actually available any remaining Friday or Saturday in September.

dan said...

I have a very bad feeling I'm going to be a huge pain. Therefore, you may have to go without me.

I work on 9/13, 9/14, 9/19, wedding 9/20.

I am free 9/25 - 9/28, so I have that going for me. Best guess would be shoot for either Friday the 26th or Sat the 27th. "Burn After Reading" should be out by then too.

Debbie said...

Either the 26th or 27th works for me, pick one and its a date.

Nancy said...

Dan: You are not a pain as my schedule has been nuts lately. I have been working with my niece Miriya (Sue Carbone knows her) and her music career is taking off @ the young age of 11. She is in a heavy metal band and they have more gigs than I do now. She is still willing to do open mics with me on every other Friday so I would have to say Sat 9/27 is my choice.

Are we definitely cancelling tomorrow then?

Lynn said...

Yes Nancy, I think we should cancel. It's going to be nasty and I don't want you guys driving down in all that rain and wind.

The 27th is fine for me. It's a new date!

Debbie said...

YEAH!!!!!

Double YEAH!!!
