"Wine is constant proof that God loves us and loves to see us happy." - Benjamin Franklin
I thought you would all appreciate this one. Have a great week. My Saturday was not the same, just wet. Looking forward to the end of the month.
The pool is closed, sooo sad. And not one fight while closing it.

Well wine definately helped me pass a very boring evening with Hanna. Our trees weren't even moving even after all the tornado warnings were all over TV.
Dan - there is a new HBO series called TrueBlood about vampires - very Twilightesque... I saw about half of it last night. Looks pretty good.
Gotta run out at lunch and get my license renewed. I totally forgot so now I am driving with an expired license. Lauren is sick with some type of virus that makes her cough nonstop. Ed left for Ohio for the week. That's all my news.
Happy Monday.
You know, our trees never moved much either until after the tornado warnings that never really came to fruition. Some limbs came down but not too many.
Lynn, I had the same thing as Lauren all last week. Non- stop coughing and a sore throat because of it. Never really had a cold, just couldn't stop coughing. Hope she feels better soon. How far have you gotten in New Moon? To Eclipse yet?
Deb, Great quote for today. (God must love me tons regarding the amount of imbibing I do). Mark almost came over yesterday to measure windows but we ended up having a baseball game in Torrington. I think he's going to try and get there next weekend.
He'll definitely give you a call.
Nancy, Did you go to the Oyster Fest (if that's what it was)? How was it?
I wish I could say our Saturday was boring. Hurricane Hanna was not nice to us. We got 1/2 inch of water in our basement. We really thought we were done with flooding in our old house and now we have to worry about it in the new house...although maybe it was a freak thing and won't happen again as we supposedly got six inches of rain. Luckily we decided not to go to the Oyster Festival and stay home because of the hurricane. We had some boxes on the floor which got wet so I will have to go through them soon and toss whatever was ruined. We did go to the taste of Danbury on Sunday and saw some of Blue Oyster Cult...
Lauren is still coughing and at home today. I hear it could last up to two weeks.
Dan, I'm reading Eclipse - but still early on.
Nancy, Do you have a sump pump. Ours kicked on during the rain and we were OK.
I have a funny story about getting my license renewed when we see each other at the end of the month. It involves a bald man from the Bronx and $500,000 in travelers checks.
Nancy, Rock on!~ "Dont Fear the Reaper"
We don't have a sump pump as from what we know the house never had water problems before. I guess we will wait and see if it happens again.
Did you like New Moon Lynn?
How is Lauren? I want to say it was 10 full days before the coughing stopped. I hope its much quicker for her.
I forgot to blog last week that Phil got the ok to run again. Its very exciting and we don't have to go back for 6 months. Nothing better than that!
GO PHIL GO!!!!! YAHOO!!!
Sorry about Lauren. Sorry about the water Nance.
Lauren still coughing. I feel so bad for her but there is nothing we can do. The fever is gone and the coughing is her only symptom.
Today is my parents anniversary...such a fitting day. So I am taking them out to dinner Last year I forgot and did I get a guilt trip.
The craziness of everyone's schedule is just about to kick in. Soccer practice starts tonight and then the games. Emily is taking a hip-hop dance class at the Y and brownies and girl scouts....then all the open houses next week. UGH.
Dan - Eclipse is good but getting a little slow in the middle. Too much wolf stuff.
Deb - I still have your tupperware from Nancy's house. Be on the lookout - It may show up on your porch this weekend.
To make you feel better, I have never once remembered the actual date of mom & Doug's anniversary-which is sometime in November around Thanksgiving. I never call, I never send a card, nothing. I can barely remember my own (wishful thinking?) and your parents shouldn't expect it either. So...
Burn After Reading got really good reviews in our paper. I can't wait to go out with you guys-it seems so far away!
We're having tough love at my house right now. Literally, every day Phil has forgotten soemthing at school, mainly something to do with homework. Today (for at least the 4th time) its his protractor. I refuse to drive back again and get it. he is really very mad at me but hopefully tomorrow everything will come home as is supposed to. Mean mom...
Dan - tell Phil (aka cheesesteak@sbc.global.net) and Carolyn that Juli is trying to email them but the emails keep getting bumped back to us. I need to take sometime to figure it out because she can email to everyone else through her AIM account expect for your family. I wonder if it is the SBC address...very strange.
Lynn: There shouldn't be a period after the sbc. The end should just be sbcglobal.net. Does that help?
Nancy - We figured it out. Dan has to allow her kids to get emails from a particular email address so she needed to "authorize" Juli's email address. What a good mom! I didn't even know you could do that.
Deb, your picture (with Jordan) is on www.monroecourier.com at the Applefest. #12.
You can run but you can't hide (in monroe, that is)
Thanks Lynn...it's time to start counting points again. He even got a back side shot.
