Easter Candy for Sale - Cheap!

Hope you all had a nice Easter. The girls and I had the usual overindulgent weekend with way too much candy. I'm making them each take a basket to the food pantry today. You can't believe how much there is between all the egg hunts and the grandparents.

Ed got snowed in Michigan and didn't get home until late Saturday night after two days of cancelled flights in two airports.

Sophie tested positive for anaplasmosis - apparently a tick bourne illness similar to Lyme. She starts antibiotics today. She is a star student and after 1 class can heel, sit, stay and go down on command. Of course, that is in the privacy of 0ur home when everyone is asleep and no distractions. I'll have to see how she does in a room full of dogs tommorrow night. Hopefully she won't pee in front of everyone like she did last time!

So, what's new with everyone else?

Norb is doing better today and he was originally going to take today and Tuesday off but he thinks he might go to work on Tuesday. We have a doctor in the family who says that the medication route can work so we are hopeful. He hasn't heard from his doctor yet so hopefully he will hear soon. The doctor who did the angiogram specializes in it and is not his doctor.

Glad to hear Norb is better. We had a good Easter. Not much candy.
We had a bbq (hamburgers/hot dogs/ kielbasa)-pretty easy. Only my brother came over. Later last night as Phil was getting himself to bed he tripped in his walker over the corner of his dresser and fell. He sprained his bad leg foot, which in itself was a probably good thing because if it was his good leg foot I don't know how we would have gotten around it. Phil said why do these bad things keep happening to me? I'm asking that myself.

Not too much candy here. We had more of a webkinz holiday. Goblin ate the Easter cookies off the counter (we saved a few but then she finished them off). Glad to hear Norb is feeling better. Sorry about Phil, life is a test, so hopefully he will sail through adulthood.
P.S.
We did the sunrise service on Easter...no traffic or parking issue at 6:30 am, very cold, no need for nice clothes, no need for a shower even. Overall not bad. Funniest part was watching Alan attempt to function that eary minus coffe.

Norb ended up staying home today for good measure, I guess.

Norb went to the doctor yesterday and he gave him another medication to take and set up another stress test for the future. He told him that the blockage could not be fixed at all with surgery. Norb is not happy with this at all as he wanted a quick fix and he wanted it over with. On the positive side he was signed up for therapy through the hospital where they will tell him what to eat and have him exercise three times a week, I think.

That is good news Nance. This way someone else is telling him he can't have McDonalds and it isn't your fault!

Phil is good. We had a check up in Hartford yesterday. We don't go back for 3 weeks. His foot is much better, yet a little sore. The doctor who went to Romania last week brought him a blown-out painted egg back. It's really pretty. It was all I could do to get it back home without having it break. Dr. Bowman said it was hard getting them all the eggs home in a cardboard box. They spent the 10 hour trip on his lap.

Ted's at the Heritage at Heritage Village tonight sleeping over for a birthday party. Reminds me Lynn when Juli went to the Marriot for the sleep over. What people with money will do. Anyway, hope everyone else is good.

Hi Nance,

I saw Sue Carbone at work today. She said you and Norb moved to a new house on Saturday. Please confirm. I hope all is well. If this indeed correct congratulations and the best of luck. I hear its just down the road and if I'm not mistaken Don said you had your own dock. Can't wait to see it.

Sue Carbone update:

She called me back and said she talked to you and Norb. Apparently your closing is scheduled for April 29th but you haven't signed a contract yet. How are you holding up Nance? It's a lot of packing boxes etc... Is the house on line? Can we see pics of it on realtor.com?

We have an appt with the Lawyer to sign the contracts on Thursday. I was going to blog this on Friday when it was official but since Sue mentioned it...here goes. The MLS # is 98364755 and it is on realtor.com. There is a long story how this came about...I will save that for Friday's blog.

Nance, it looks great...details would be even better. Is your house sold?? I can't go on Saturday, Alan is taking Tyler to play and Jordan and I will be home. I don't think it would be the place for an 8 1/2 year old. Hope to see you soon.

Our house is sold. Both closings are scheduled for 4/29. I haven't started packing as the realtor said not to until after the contracts were signed.

Nancy said...

Packing sucks! I got five boxes done this weekend. I hope to make more headway this week.

Nancy -

When are you moving? Ed offered to help with his pickup if you need him. Just let us know.

The closing is 4/29 but we are supposedly going to get access to the other house a week or two prior to that. I think we only need help with the big stuff. Is there a day or time that is good?

Ed will be away from April 20th - 24th. He will be here the weekend before you close if you need help then. Just let us know.
