This is the boringest winter of all time. I wish it would snow or do something exciting.
We are taking the kids to Great Escape lodge over Feb. vacation for a few days so they could go down the waterslides. At least it gives us something to look forward to in this very boring winter.
My job is exceptionally boring. I have spent the few days reading vendor contracts... zzzzzzzzzzzz
Please someone tell me something interesting.

After watching last weeks' basketball games I am now known in our fan circles as the "Bobby Knight" of basketball. I really can't shut up at the refs for their bad calls. I think one day I'm going to have a technical called on me. Mark calls it anger issues. I call it menopause. Most of the women agree with me. It does make for an exciting game. And I have a 100 cute little remarks like, "They come in bifocals too!" and my ultimate favorite "does the whistle need a written invitation for it to be blown?"
So, we're set for Feb 8th. I was telling Lynn we come home in a wheelchair. We'll see what happens after that. Once this is over, pins out and physical therapy the only thing left I say we're due for some time away. This is literally a year away but be thinking about it!
We put our house up for sale for 60 days only just to see if there was anything better than what we have out there. So, far we haven't found anything better than what we have so we will probably stay put.
Anyone coming to Twisted Vine? Are you bringing popcorn balls?
I wish I were bored. I have been to the pediatrician 3 times in 11 days. First was Tyler's strep and then Tyler coughing so hard he was vomitting. Yesterday was Jordan who has bronchitis(sp). He is now home for a few days because he feels and looks like crap. There is also pnemonia (sp) going around. Needless to say I have become the master juggler of work and sickness. February break will be a time to not have to call anyone in sick.
Dan-I would like you to follow me for a day and call out all the bad things that happen. It would be fun to hear someone say what I am thinking. Good luck with Phil!
Nance-house for sale??? Sorry no Twisted Vine this time. I have used up all of our sitter time on illness.
Lynn- Great Escape sounds good, enjoy!
Yes, house for sale...we are looking to see if we can get a bigger garage and of course with a dock slip in a lake community. We gave the realtor 60 days to find us a house and sell ours. We shall see...no offers yet and we haven't seen anything that is as good as we have.
Deb: Hope the kids get well soon!
Deb - Tell everyone to get well soon!
Anyone watching the big game Sunday? Dan - I'm sure my dad would love your commentary... especially if the Patriots dominate, which I am afraid they will do. He went out and bought all the girls Giants shirts. It should be fun.
Nancy - I hate to tell you but 60 days in this market is not realistic. I think it's taking much longer to sell. Good luck
We can't do twisted vine this weekend - no babysitters. We hoping for the April one. I booked Juli's birthday party for March 1.
Lyun: Yes, we know 60 days is not realistic but we are not sure we like the realtors we have so if we want to keep playing the game we have two others we can try. By the way, what do you think is realistic?
I would say 6 months or more. You never know. I would check to see how long it took other houses in your development to sell. Are you really serious about moving or just scoping it out?
We are just scoping. If we find something we will move if we don't we won't.
Lynn Ellen- your father must have almost had a heart attack last night. What a great game! I hope he bet on the Giants. My brother came over but he was a Pats fan so he wasn't so happy. I wanted the Colts to win. (so I was sort of rooting for Eli instead of Payton). All in all a good game.
How's it going Nance and Deb?
What a game is right. No dad doesn't bet on games anymore. There doesn't seem to be bookies in Monroe like there were in Stratford. My family did a pool - it was Kyle's bday earlier in the day so we made one up with the whole family. We would have won $60 bucks if the giants didn't score so I was conflicted for a moment. But just to see the joy in ron's eyes was worth losing the money. I even let the kids stay up and watch - which I regretted this morning. Sofie ate three buffalo wings so I hope we are not at the vet with her later today. I think it should become Superbowl Saturday because I'm beat today. My husband was pouring the Margaritas so I'm a little tired. My cousin the vegan came over to watch with us and I am happy to report he now eats fruit and nuts. Got to go write my objectives for the year. Such bull----! I don't even know what I am going to do tomorrow let alone the entire year.
My objective every year on my evaluation is to, "come in and work everyday I'm scheduled to and quite possibly even be dressed for it."
My brother, who was a vegetarian last month, now eats fish, chicken and pork but no red meat. So, I guess I have that going for me. He did also eat sausage & peppers which I wold think would be worse than red meat but who am I to say? He still doesn't drink so we did not have any alcholic beverages and it was nearly killing me.
Yeah, I agree it should be Saturday. I only watched Jordan Sparks sing the national anthem and Tom Petty during half time.
The scoping thing has seemed to have backfired. We got an offer on our house and we haven't found one. We weren't going to counter but the realtor convinced us to as if we didn't we would lose any future buyer. We listed the house without the hot tub and washer and dryer and they want all of it. So, we countered $5,000 lower still without the hot tub and washer so I guess we shall see.
Yes, it was a very good game. Even Al watched it. The children are both in school, there are many illnesses going around Monroe El. All I can do is keep my fingers crossed to make it through the week.
Wow Nance...are you moving?
Nancy - Have you looked at anything? I would think there would be a lot on the market. That puts in a good position - the stress of selling will be gone and you will be a very attractive buyer. If you really want this don't quibble over $5000. We lost so many houses over things like that and then regretted it.
We looked at one house so far. We absolutely love the inside but there are some drawbacks so we plan to look at others hopefully this weekend. We haven't heard back from our counter so I will try to find out what is going on.
This is very exciting Nancy!
We still haven't heard from our counter offer of selling the house nor have we heard that they withdrew the offer so I guess they are still thinking?
We picked out a bunch of houses to look at on Saturday.
