S.O.S.

Hi. I need help. If you are out and about shopping I need "break-away" pants for Phil for after his surgery. These are pants that have snaps up the sides and are mainly for basketball. I've already checked thrift stores in Danbury, Target in Brookfield, Walmart and Sports Authority in Danbury. I am going to go on-line and see what I can find but if you are out in a store and see them; boys sized 8-10 (usually a medium) pick up as many colors as you can find and I'll pay you back. Otherwise Phil's teacher "knows" a seamstress, but I'm afraid of the cost of altering his pants. I can't believe Sports Authority didn't have any. There' still K-Mart, Kohls, Dicks and Model's to check out but if you see any pick me up some. Thanks!

Otherwise, we're all good and set for the 8th. Phil must ask (literally) 50 questions a day we can't answer (but do anyway) about his surgery so he's really into it. I did some on-line checking about his orthopaedic surgeon. I really like her and she seems a mousy thing with brown hair and glasses but she flew combat missions in Desert Storm. How you get from that to a proclaimed orthopaedic surgeon I don't know but better for us. Keep you posted.... lots of cocktail hours going on.

I'll start searching... Have you tried Bob's? Will you and Mark be sleeping at the hospital with him? If so, do you need me to have Carolyn and Ted stay with us? Even if Ted didn't want to, the girls would love to have Carolyn for the weekend. Just let me know. What else do you need???

I never even thought of Bobs, thanks.

I'm staying at the hospital with him. he has a private room which he is very much looking forard too. We go on Thrusday to see the Pin-Expert doctor to see what the entire external fixation thing will look like and how to take care of it. After that he has a clearance physical with Dr. Weber for surgery. I'll ask Carolyn if she's going to want to stay the weekend with you. She has school Fri as you know but i can't remember off hand if there's anything she's doing otherwise. Ted has basketball all weekend that Mark will be taking him to so I don't even think he'll be around. Mark's mom & dad are going to take them all day Fri tio school etc...

If I can think of anything I'll definately let you know.

Dan: Sue Carbone showed up with her husband @ the Borders gig. One of these days you guys will show up to the same gig. Also, I hope you call one of us after the surgery so we can blog to the rest.

I just withdrew from my Marketing class. It has such an unbelieveable amount of work that there was no way I could do it all. Within 6 weeks there was 28 written assignments - most of which were 3 page case studies. Then a midterm and a final and a 20page marketing plan paper. I just sent an angry email to my advisor. When I signed up for this program they said it would take 12 - 15 hours a week - I don't think this could have been done in 40 hrs per week!

Nancy - we won't be able to make it to El Mariachi Saturday. When are you playing at Twisted Vine again?

Deb - there was a house fire on my street early this morning. I know they have kids because I always see the mom waiting for the bus. I hope everyone is OK. Let me know if you hear anything.

Dan - we would really love to have Carolyn if she wants to come. I could drive up and get her Friday night or Sat. morning.

Dan, good luck with Phil. If I see the pants I will get them. As you know we are not really a sporting family, but stranger things have happened.

Nance, good luck with your gig. We can't get there but I'm sure you will kick butt!

Lynn, no news yet. Was it bad? Sorry to hear about your class. I start teaching online today...still not sure exactly what I am doing. That doesn't sound good but it will be ok.

Twisted Vine is 2/2, 3/1, 4/5 (first Saturday of Feb Mar Apr). I would rather you come to the Twisted Vine anyway as I am not sure if El Mariachi is going to book us after this week. Last week El Mariachi had a band and when the band wasn't playing a DJ was. There is no way we can sing and then have a DJ play during our break. It would be too weird. I will let you know what happens.

Dan: Did you try an army navy store or a medical store for the pants?

Lynn: As for your class, it was good to withdraw before getting in too deep. Are you going to try again next semester? I honestly don't know how you do it in the first place with the family and all. I couldn't do it and I didn't have kids. I took 1 1/2 classes and I quit.

Deb: Good luck with the online thing! You always seem to pull through!

Lynn, Carolyn did say she'd like to stay with you guys. I'll call you to work out the details.

I did find 8 pairs of breakaway pants today (4 that are his size and 4 that need to be hemmed and a new snap put in the waistband-too big). So I'm feeling much better.

Nance, good luck sat.

Deb, think of teaching on line class like blogging. it sounds like fun anyway.

That's great about Carolyn. When I told Juli that she may be staying she was so excited that she counted out the days. I'll call you this weekend since I will have plenty of free time with no studying to do. Ed said he saw the breakaway pants at Sports Authority right after xmas.

Deb - Juli said it was a barn that burnt which is possible because there is or was some sort of a horse farm back there. Good luck with the online teaching!

Nancy - Rock On! I'll check with Ed on the twisted vine dates... He asked me several times when you were playing again. I think you have a new fan!
