The ants came marching 100 by 100...
You've really never seen so many ants in one place ever inside a house. I'd be disgusted to tell you that it was in our dishwasher. I took all the dishes out and hand washed them all. Ran the empty dishwasher twice to drown them all out. We can't figure out how they're getting in. All the drawers are out of the cabinets, everything washed. The cats think it's a buffet. (They eat ants which is kinda gross). The ants are crawling from behind the dishwasher through the underside of the counter tops. I've sprayed, flayed and prayed that it's the end....This is what I get after a nice breakfast out with you guys.
Now we're eating off of paper plates/cups and not using dishwasher until I can get things under control. How's the piddling Deb?

YUCK!!! I totally hate insects. Sorry to hear about the pests. At least you know the kitties will have plenty to snack on. The pee is improving. We are averaging one accident a day. All in the kitchen so life is OK.

I don't want to jinx myself but the ants don't seem to like my house anymore since we're washing dishes by hand.

George, the good hamster seems to be failing. He is 2 years old which is about right for a black bear hamster. It's so sad that he's gone gray and he's all skin and bones. (total prostate problem too).
Is nothing else happening in anyone's lives? I just finished a very funny book by Donald Westlake called "What's So Funny?" highly recommended. Just like Carl Hiaasen

Dan - only you would know that your hamster has a prostrate problem. Sorry about the ants - how the heck did they get into the diswasher. I dont understand that - either does my family. You will be happy to know that your ant probably was the topic of our dinner conversation one night this week. The kids were fascinated and we were all bouncing around ideas how they got it.
Got my new car just in time to hear how Purdue is settling law suits for 600 mil. I wasted no time running up to get it before there is no money left! My family keeps calling wondering if I have been indited yet. Oh well - the evil empire has treated me good over the years. It's such a shame because we have helped so many people in pain but know one cares about that. I spent the week yelling at the tv.
I am officially addicted to Webkins Cash Cow game. I am fighting my kids for the laptop now. I need help! Alhought the kids are loving all the points.
So happy mothers day to all. Dan - is the red ipod coming???? My wish was to skip brunch and stain my deck and I'm excited.
Lynn you'll be happy to note that a blue ipod showed up on mother's day. Carolyn told Mark I wanted one. So, that was pretty good. My mother came over and it was a good day. Will surprises never end?!
On Saturday morning I woke up early and went downstairs to get a drink. There was a rather large puddle of water in front of the refrigerator. Apparently for absolutely no reason the fridge stopped running. All the ice had melted from the bin and was all over the freezer etc... the lights were still on so I know the fridge was getting "juice". Mark was playing around with it and pushed some buttons and got it running again. It seems to run constantly now. I'm really not in the mood to shop for a new fridge so I guess I'll wait until this one craps the bed so to speak. Maybe there's ants in the compressor (I'm only kidding, I have no idea why it stopped). But I really don't know where the ants are coming from. Honeslty since we're washing dishes by hand there aren't really ants around anymore. Dana gave me a tip that if you wash down wherever they've been with bleach, they won't come back because they can't follow the scent from other ants. I've done that too. Who knows.
Another weird thing is at work. I don't know if I told you about the death threats a patient's family member made to some of the doctors at the hospital. Well, apparently this nut case came back after being released from Danbury Psych Unit. He came carrying a pipe bomb and a gun. So, security caught him after he made bomb threats and now there are security guards and police guarding all the entrances/ doors/ nursing units. We have to have our badges all the time etc... very weird. He's back in Danbury Psych ward again. it's not in any of the papers so unless you worked there no one would know. They are plain clothes security people. Mark's friend Mike, his b-i-l is a detective in Danbury so he was going to try and find out more gossip about it.
It's never a dull moment. I'm off to the book fair. Hopefully it's better than last time. See you guys soon....
Wow Dan you lead an exciting life. Tell Mark I am very proud of him. I had a nice day with the boys. We did Cabaret and then we all went to 5 Guys and Cold Stone Creamery. What better way to end Mother's Day than with ice cream.

Work is fine - very quiet and not much talk. I think we have all been through so much here that nothing rocks the boat anymore.
Car is awesome. I really like it.
Mother's day was really nice. I weeded and stained all day and then went to Archie Moore's for wings, nachos and beer for dinner. Kids played outside all day and I didn't have to cook or entertain anyone. Ed gave me a flat screen TV for over the fireplace in the kitchen. It's on order. (Kind of sounds like it should have been Father's Day - doesn't it?)
Dan - the other day and I was putting away laundry in my room and listening to the music on cable and on came "Push It" I was dancing around the room and my kids thought I was nuts. You go fly girl...
I am around Memorial weekend. We will be opening the pool and going to the parade. What day works for everyone??? Congrats on the TV. You did want one there and of course Ed sacrificed to get it. At least you didn't have to cook for everyone.
I'm free Memorial Weekend. I have to work Monday night but there is no baseball at all that weekend either. Carolyn has to march the parade on sunday only. So...let's do it.
I like the flat screen tv gift. It does sound like a father's day thing but I'd take it.
PS- let's take the Saab. I want to know what it's like riding in a car...without milk smells/sticky pops/old yahoo cans apparently stuffed under the seat so i wouldn't know where the yucky milk smells were coming from.

I am not available Friday 5/25. I just made plans for dinner with a friend who is moving away. Also, I was supposed to go and see a friend of mine in a band on Saturday 5/26 but I guess it will depend if she shows up to my gig on 5/19 or not. So, I guess what I am saying is that Saturday is possible. I am available Sunday.

There's supposed to be a good movie called "The Waitress" out in select theaters (which means not near me) but maybe it's playing in Trumbull or Orange. Go onto IMDB to get more info about the movie.
Sorry, waitress is only playing in NY & LA. The next british flick is Harry Potter out in July. We'll have to see what's playing I guessd that night. Not much lese loks very good.
