There was a man I knew at the polls today....

I saw Ron working the polls with all of the other seniors today. I believe he even defended me when I used the wrong door. Hope everyone is enjoying the weather!

Hey Nancy - great CD!!! I think we are going to try to catch you at a Starbucks in June!

Sorry guys but I have to change the July 8 boat day. That's when I have Wicked tickets. I forgot. So do we have any available dates in August. We can't do Aug 4. If that's the only good date go ahead without us. Ed could actually still come because it's only Juli and I that have the tickets.

Did the buget pass? I just got into work - only a 3 hr commute this morning. No trains due to down wires.

They are shooting a movie with Sean Penn, Bruce Willis and Robert Dinero in the next building to me. I can see them inside and see a lot of action but the damn windows are tinted. It looks like they will be going on the balcony soon so maybe I'll get to see something.

Are you free on July 7th for the boat day? The budget failed again...voting on May 8th, maybe the third time is the charm. Good luck with the movie stars. Keep us posted.

Lynn said...

No - July 7th will be my sisters baby show.

Debbie said...

OK Dan....what weekends are you free? You can not miss another full day. Once we know that we can work on dates.

dan said...

Sorry, sorry, sorry...

I've been working in pathology again this week and the kids have baseball so I'm never near the computer.

Our weekend are pretty much all free exept for the last weekend in August when we're going to North Carolina.

I'm working 7/14 & 15, 8/4 & 5 and
8/2526 (which I have to switch off with someone b/c of meg's wedding), so either the weekend before or after I'll end up working.

What about July 28th or 29th? August 18th or 19th?

dan said...

I would say July 28th is better.

Debbie said...

Lynn and Nancy?

Lynn said...

July 28 won't work for us - Lake George. But Aug 18 or 19th will work.

Nancy said...

Aug 18 or 19 work for me.

dan said...

SOunds like a plan! Saturday or Sunday??? We got a puppy yesterday...an Irish Terrier, 4 months old and really cute.

Lynn said...

Whoa - you must elaborate on the puppy. Girl, Boy, Name??? From where? Why?? How's Goblin taking it?

dan said...

Nice going on the dog Deb...I'm with Lynn, name, gender, why???

The moral of today's lesson...you should always get dressed in the morning.

Well, I dropped the kids off at school this morning. I got out of work late last night (2am) and so getting out of bed at 6a was a challenge. I can get up ok but once I go back upstairs to get dressed I always fall into bed (just for a minute!) which inadvertently turns into 20 and now we have to get to school. So.....and this is the funny part, I'm still in my robe, pajamas and slippers taking the boys to school always hoping I never get pulled over for speeding. On the was home I notice the bus is pulled over right after our driveway. I stop and ask the bus driver if everything is ok. And by this time the bus is late since our road is the beginning of the route. A little girl had a tick stuck to her neck and Stephanie (bus driver) couldn't get it out. So, I tell her I'll be right back with tweezers. So, I get tweezers and go onto the bus etc... and the kids go, Look it's Ted's mom and she has her pajamas on! So, there my funny story on why you should always get dressed in the morning.

ps-tick is out of neck.

Dan - I bet you looked hot in your pjs! The dog's name is Adan (little fire)which she is. She is a girl, really cute and why not. You only live once and I really do have the ark theme. Everyone should have a partner. Goblin is taking it very well. She likes to play with Adan but must be supervised (size difference). We are working on housebreaking. She is only having pee accidents, poops outside so far. I hope I didn't say that too soon. The boys love having a new addition and even Alan is along for the ride.

Saturday or Sunday?

Lynn said...

Sunday the 19th works for us. I've been home the past few days with the worst sore throat and a fever. I was sure I had step but I went to the walk in clinic last night and the culture was neg. This is the worst timing because I am supposed to be on vacation next week. Oh well - work is just going to have to deal.

Dan - my question about the PJ's bus incident is why weren't your kids on the bus?????

Deb - Can't wait to see the puppy. The girls are very excited to meet her. Is her name prononced like Adain from Sex and the City?

Debbie said...

Yes its Adan (I never really watched Sex in the City). Sorry you're under the weather. I was at the walk in today. I guess the blooming trees have gotten me. I now have to take Zyrtec D. That Sunday is on our calendar. Are we still meeting for breakfast??

Nancy said...

I have been sick too...aches and pains, fever like and now a little congested...I put Sunday 8/19 in the calendar.

dan said...

Sunday the 19th is on our calendar too.

I always drive the boys into school in the morning but they take the bus home. The bus is always late and Ted can't get his morning work done in time. (He was always staying in for recess which we know how much of a crime that is). Can't do anything about the bus route because if it's length. I tried.

Tell your dad Lynn, only 22 more days until Pirates of the Caribbean 3-Counting down in my house...

Lynn said...

Yes to Breakfast. I love Adan - what a cute name for a red headed dog. I am still feeling bad but came to work today. I am hoping to see the doc downstairs - maybe he will give me an antibotic. Deb - did you see the doctor with absolutely no personality. Are they putting all the rejects there.

Lynn said...

Dan - my dad can't wait to go to the movies with you. He keeps talking about it. I guess you have a date!

Debbie said...

I saw a Indian female who was very nice, around our age. The only one I don't like is the overly textbook younger Indian male doc. The bloody noses seem to be coming to end so thats good. Hope you feel better Lynn!

dan said...

Glad to see you're all getting better. Did we decide where for breakfast? Was it the 4 daughters?

I told Mark dad last night your dad and I were going to see POTC 3. He's just glad he doesn't have to go. He's not really into the pirate thing. He'd much rather do Spiderman which I like but I don't need to see. he can take the kids. When we went and saw Meet the Robinson's the trailers for the new movies coming out where better than the actual movie. Shrek 3 looks to be really funny.

Tell Ron we're on for either late breakfast or lunch depending on when the movie starts.

So, I have strep - but not the type they culture for in the fast strep test. Dan - please tell me what I have - It's group G strep. I looked it up on the internet and they said it is usually found on horses and farm animals. I am not kidding. All I know is it's day 4 and I still feel like I am swallowing razor blades. I sent Ed and the kids out to a cinco de mayo party and I am home alone in my misery. So, I am sleeping upstairs at about 5:00 pm and I get a call from Bill Schmalke - for thoes of you not from Monroe - he used to live here. He was driving down the road at 4:50 or so and saw mail and the lids to my mail boxes scattered all over the road. He saw the mail was mine so he put it on the porch. Apparently, while I was sleeping, between 3:30 and 4:50 someone tried to bash in our new rubbermaid mail boxes with a bat. Luckily Ed doug them down three feet so they didn't go anywhere. They just popped the doors and scattered the mail. So against my better judgement, big ron decided the police should be involved. So they just left after investigating. I said, just keep my name out of police blotter. But the nerve of these kids = right in broad daylight on a saturday afternoon. Anyway - got to run- mom just brought me a blizzard. There are still some advantages to living with mom and dad!

First child down with strep. On the way to the doctor. So much for vacation... Not sure about breakfast tomorrow. Although I would be happy to make everyone french toast and bacon here if you're brave enough. I could keep the sicky sequestered.

Debbie said...

Sorry to hear about the first casualty. We can do breakfast another time. I was at the doctor with Jordan yesterday and I am starting to feel better myself. I can not risk exposure to illness again so I will have to sadly decline breakfast at Chez Lynn. Hang in there!

Nancy - are you out there???

dan said...

Whoa Nelly...(Had to put that in)

The most common form of strep throat is Group A Strep. Other types that are found in the throat are also Group C and group G. Typically since most are Group A not much other testing is done if it's not group A. At our lab we report put beta hemolytic strep Not group a nor group b. (group B being the strep found in women's parts which they have to be tested for before they have a baby since an infant can (and will, which I've seen) die from injesting group B strep in delivery. This is only because they have next to no immunity to fight it off. We can have grp B and be perfectly fine with it.

It's nothing to be concerned about. If you're not better in another day I would definately have the doctor either do a repeat culture AND sensitivity since whatever you're on doesn't seem to be making you better. If the lab still has the old culture I would ask them to do sensitivities on it. It might be resistant to penicillin and to be honest I'm not sure what Grp G ab is automatically given.

As to breakfast I hope you won't be upset that I'm going to skip the sick bay area in your house. I'm working nearly everyday for the next 3 weeks in the evening and I can't afford to get sick either. Sorry Lynn E... If there's a miraculous recovery tomorrow let me know. Would Ed be willing to stay home with the girls for a bit while we have breakfast? (this is actually cracking me up as I write it for Mark would no way do it).

otherwise would you want to see how it was going at the end of the week? Let me kow and i hope you feel better soon.

Lynn said...

Thanks Dr. Dan. I am actually feeling better so I think the augumentum is working. You guys should do bfast anyway. If for some reason Juli is well enough to go to school then I will join you. She doesn't seem as sick as I was and she isn;t running a fever so maybe she is just overtired from the Ranch trip. We will see - doc at 2:15.

Nancy said...

I have been just reading along and am getting better but I did not take the time off from work to do breakfast so I will catch you next time...

dan said...

Are you up for breakfast Deb? I've been looking forward to it all last week.

Debbie said...

Dan - Tell me a time and place and I will be there. Kids are at school by 8:50.

dan said...

How about where we were going to go anyway, the 4 daughters or someplace? Is there someplace closer to you that you'd like to go? It doesn't matter to me. I drop the boys off around 8:40am so I wouldn't be anywhere until after 9am.

Debbie said...

Dan - call me in the morning with the time and place.
